post a commentI cannot imagine that the rumor is true, but I hear that there is a significant movement within the county school districts' leadership that are planning to bring back the WISD millage for another vote, perhaps in May.
Cam, is this true? Did they not understand the election returns? This thing died a deserved death by a wide majority - and that with the pro-tax side having plenty of time and resources to get out the vote and the opposition having to scramble in response.
If the districts decide to pass another resolution and the WISD decides to put it on the ballot again, all that will happen is that they will hand a ready-made issue to bring more fiscally conservative voters to the polls and drive down county democrat vote totals in 2010.
As much as I don't want to re-fight the battle, I almost wish that the rumors are true!
I have heard nothing on this. Don't know if there are any plans, or if so, what they are.
